Labor Fails to Deliver Vital Funding for Sandringham East Primary School

April 10, 2015

Daniel Andrews and his Labor Government have abandoned hundreds of Sandringham families by failing to deliver much needed funding for Sandringham East Primary School.

In May 2014, Murray Thompson MP, Member for Sandringham announced that a re-elected Coalition Government would deliver $4.6 million to redevelop Sandringham East Primary School with an immediate $250,000 to begin works from allocated funds in the 2014-15 budget.

This important funding was a firm commitment of the Coalition. The incoming Andrews Government has not matched this funding commitment – therefore failing to deliver $4.35 million of vital funding to complete the important upgrade of Sandringham East Primary School.

Quotes attributable to Nick Wakeling MP, Shadow Minister for Education:

"The Andrews Government has failed to commit $4.35 million of vital funding for Sandringham East Primary School.”

“The Premier needs to explain to the families of Sandringham East Primary School why they are being punished by not delivering this important funding.”
“Daniel Andrews needs to ensure that the vital funding for these schools is delivered in the May Budget.”

Quotes attributable to Murray Thompson MP, State Member for Sandringham:

“I was pleased to be able to secure $250,000 to begin works on the upgrade of Sandringham East Primary School. Parents rightly want their school upgrade to be completed. I will continue to stand up for local residents to ensure that $4.35 million of vital funding is delivered.”
