About Sandringham

SANDRINGHAM is a metropolitan electorate approximately 20 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. It is part of the Southern Metropolitan Region.

Covering 24 square kilometres, it includes the suburbs of Beaumaris, Black Rock and Sandringham, and parts of the suburbs of Cheltenham, Mentone, Highett and Hampton.

Much of the electorate consists of bayside residential areas. It also features some industry and premises of organisations such as the CSIRO.

Several popular golf courses are also located in the electorate.

The Sandringham Electorate is characterised by the outstanding amenity of the coastline and its highly active community. With a diverse range of vocational backgrounds, the community has widespread involvement in recreation, sporting, service and church organisations. Businesses range from retail to manufacturers with global markets.
